Everyday Einstein – 5.30.2010

For those out of town this weekend and can’t make it to the store, here’s our window puzzle. For those who are home, you get extra time to solve before you buy.

A man goes to the hardware store and orders a length of rope from the cashier. When he returns three days later to collect the rope, he discovers the cashier had inverted feet and inches on the order form and gave the man a rope that was only 30% of the length of rope he ordered.

What length did he originally order, and what length did he end up getting?
