Everyday Einstein – Martin Gardner Monday

Hello puzzle fans! This week we kick off a new series, Martin Gardner Mondays. The late, great Martin Gardner was a pre-eminent puzzle and illusion creator and solver. Oct. 21 was his birthday. Per his last request, fans will celebrate his day with puzzle parties and conferences. This year, Eureka will host an event with Chris Morgan at the Brookline Senior Center. Expect more details soon!

To kick off our publicity, we will post a new Martin Gardner puzzle every Monday until the event.

From his Mind-Boggling Word Puzzles:

“The word FORTY is the only number-word with its letters in alphabetical order. What number-word has its letters in reverse alphabetical order?”
